What it is
Not every eye suits the same laser treatment. The refractive suite is a set of detailed eye tests that measures your number, the shape and thickness of your cornea, and the health of your eyes.
With the results, Dr Gandhi explains which option suits you, such as LASIK or SMILE, or whether glasses or lenses remain the safer choice.

What to expect
- Please stop soft contact lenses for a few days before (we'll tell you how many when you book)
- Painless tests with eye-scanning machines
- Drops may be used that blur near vision for a few hours, so bring someone to drive
- A clear recommendation with your options explained
Questions patients ask
Do the tests hurt?
No. The machines take pictures and measurements of your eyes. Some drops may sting for a moment.
Will I be treated on the same day?
The assessment comes first. If you are suitable, Dr Gandhi will plan the treatment date with you.
What if I'm not suitable for laser?
Dr Gandhi will explain why, and what other options exist. Sometimes glasses or lenses really are the safest choice.
